Free Sliding Spherical Bearing

Gantek Free Sliding Spherical Bearings are designed to accommodate horizontal movements in both the transverse (perpendicular) and longitudinal (parallel) directions relative to the bridge axis, in addition to allowing rotational movements. This capability is achieved through the incorporation of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and stainless steel sliding surfaces between the bearing components, which facilitate smooth, low-friction movement under load. The spherical design ensures that the bearing can accommodate rotations while permitting unrestricted horizontal displacement in any direction, making it particularly suitable for bridges subjected to complex movements due to thermal expansion, seismic activity, or other dynamic forces.
